When I booked my room I requested the complimentary pick-up at the airport. I provided my flight number and arrival time, but there was no pick-up when I got there. Getting ones own taxi at BKK isn t necessarily an easy thing, and especially for someone who hasn t done it before. The cabbies aren t too happy about waiting two hours in line and then getting a fare that only wants to go a short distance, either. Out of sympathy I paid my driver double the going rate. I received no explanation from the hotel for why they forgot me, nor would they discount my room to cover the cab fare. The ride back to the airport wasn t much better. I had to catch an international flight that left at 08:25 so I needed to leave the hotel at 06:00. Some other guests at the hotel also needed to go at that time, but were running late, and the hotel wanted me to wait for them. Since getting through check-in and immigration can take quite a bit of time I knew that was not a good idea. Thankfully, the driver saw it my way, and I was on time for my flight in spite of what the front desk wanted. I d stayed in the hotel before because it is a convenient location for making early flights, but there are alternatives close by, so next time I ll try one of those. For the price they charge (which is about double of other hotels close by), they should provide better service, in my opinion. Also, the showerhead in my room didn t work.
